Justin Gabriel (1838-1923) is a French engraver and painter. His first works executed around 1864-1870, bring him closer to the painters of the future impressionist current, with whom he had links. For J.Bailly-Hersberg, “his first engravings often of small formats are rather close to the impressionist invoice by their flickers and by the vaporous note which emerges from it and are not without recalling the current of avant-garde of the time”.
